We usually attend this church service at 11am on Sunday when we are on the island. It is not the easiest place to find but it is worth seeking out. The church has a congregation to be very proud of, particularly as attendance in most Uk churches is quite poor. I know the clergy must consider themselves quite fortunate to be in Madeira with such a captive audience! We really enjoy the service and the wonderful feeling after having been. They have a book stall and somewhere to have tea and coffee after though we never stay. There are concerts and events on there most nights and the church is used in the most productive way. The gardens are well maintained too. I wish I lived here, we would no doubt be quite active with this church.

Small church, just outside the old city center. Not that imposing as most of the other buildings and religious places in Funchal. Free of entrance. Peaceful quiet garden with lots of lizards.
It has a beautiful garden. Every day they have different concerts.
